Allows For Simplified Installation On Both F50 And F50EX Models
TrueNorth Avionics has announced it has been awarded an FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for Wi-Fi installations on the Dassault Falcon 50 aircraft line, covering the Falcon 50 and Falcon 50EX models. This follows TrueNorth’s selection in 2011 for retrofit aboard the first Falcon 900EASy, and continues the enthusiastic acceptance of TrueNorth’s Simphone¯ OpenCabin airborne telecommunications system by Dassault Falcon operators, due to the system’s unmatched ease of use, reliability, robust performance and broad range of capabilities.
“We’ve heard for quite awhile now that Falcon operators are impressed with the value and performance that our systems offer,” said Mark van Berkel, TrueNorth’s president. “When flying internationally, corporate jet passengers are seeing what heads of state (HOS) and other VIPs have already learned, that TrueNorth equipment provides aircraft operators with the best available means to fly, connect and succeed.”
A revolutionary software-centric system, the Simphone¯ (pronounced ‘symphony’) OpenCabin system brings an unprecedented degree of reliability, operator control and communications capabilities to business aviation. Since existing airborne telecom systems were heavy, complex, expensive to install and operate, and prone to obsolescence, TrueNorth developed a solution that addressed all those concerns, with benefits that include an integrated system with less hardware to install; app-based to scale for the future; an intelligent interface to enhance the user experience; and the ability to easily add a wide variety of custom features. The company’s newest advance is the TrueNorth Stylus, the industry’s first-ever multilingual handset. The TrueNorth Stylus is available in wired and wireless version, and offers HD Voice Quality and a design that can be uniquely personalized to match an operator’s cabin decor.
