Embraer released data Wednesday showing it
had delivered 44 jets during the third quarter of 2010. 20 of
those went to the airline market and 24 to the executive jets
market. The number of jets delivered during the first nine months
of the year stands 154, and the firm order backlog remained stable
during the quarter, totaling $15.3 billion as of September 30,
2010.

The third quarter was marked by important sales to the airline
market, which were announced in July at the 47th Farnborough
International Airshow (FIA), in England. Embraer reported the sale
of 37 new E-Jets to two companies that already operate this family
of jets at Farnborough: Brazil's TRIP ordered two Embraer 190s and
England's Flybe, 35 Embraer 175s. Furthermore, Argentina's Austral
received its first Embraer 190s in September, and became the most
recent airline to join the list of Embraer jet operators.
For the executive jets market, Embraer delivered 24 jets in the
third quarter, 16 Phenom 100s and six Phenom 300s, plus two Lineage
1000 jets – one to Mexico and another to the United Arab
Emirates. Investments in customer support continue to be made, in
order to expand the coverage and quality of the services
provided.
Embraer Phenoms
Embraer also announced five agreements in the Defense area,
during the last quarter, for the KC-390 program, which could result
in the sale of up to 54 of the aircraft. The airplane's development
program is moving ahead, as planned. In Farnborough, the
Brazilian Air Force (Forca Aerea Brasileira – FAB) formalized
its intention to acquire 28 of the aircraft. Through Declarations
of Intent signed by the Brazilian government in August and
September, Embraer began discussions with four countries, in order
to establish industrial partnerships for the program and the future
sale of 26 airplanes: 12 to Colombia, six to Chile, six to
Portugal, and two to the Czech Republic.
