BAA Training And Avion Express To Offer A Brand New Cadet Program

Will Prepare Pilots For Vacancies In Airbus Single-Aisle Aircraft

BAA Training, one of the leading aviation training centers in Northern Europe, and Avion Express, an airline headquartered in Vilnius, have announced new collaboration to support future aviation talents. Under the partnership, BAA Training will prepare pilots to fill vacancies for the expanding fleet of Airbus A319, A320, and A321 aircraft operated by Avion Express.

The initial pilot training program for people with little to no flying experience is being launched in an effort to meet the constantly growing demand for new pilots at the company. After passing a multistage selection process and successfully completing the ATPL (frozen) course, pilots will secure a flying job at Avion Express.

“This program is a great opportunity for young people seeking to spur a career in aviation and become co-pilots on our fleet of Airbus aircraft," said Gardar Forberg, CEO of Avion Express. "Moreover, it puts candidates on a direct path to a long-term tenure in our company with a view to becoming captains." He then went on to highlight that a business model of the company allows their pilots to get an unrivalled international experience as the company delivers services all over the world.

Not only does this program offer substantial benefits for future pilots, but also greatly benefits those who are already enrolled by motivating them to perform better, as the successful completion of the course means a possibility to join the airline straightaway. This is what Avion Express is looking for in its future employees.

According to Egle Vaitkeviciute, CEO of BAA Training, such programs are great for airlines wishing to select potential candidates at an earlier stage and monitor their remaining training. “We are delighted to join our forces with Avion Express and share our expertise that our aviation academy offers to companies across the globe. In our experience, airline involvement in the preparation of pilots is a mutually beneficial alliance which complements pilot training with specific skills and qualifications arising from certain business needs. This gradually increases the quality of pilot training,” he said.

Avion Express is the largest airline in Lithuania and the largest narrow body wet lease operator in the world, currently operating 16 Airbus 319/320/321 aircraft.
