French Prosecutor Says Andreas Lubitz Contacted Several Doctors

Germanwings Pilot Accused Of Intentionally Flying An Airplane Into The Ground

Andreas Lubitz, the Germanwings pilot who is accused of intentionally flying an airliner with 150 passengers on board into the ground in the French Alps killing everyone on board, reached out to several doctors about an unspecified ailment, according to the French prosecutor leading the investigation into the crash.

The Associated Press reports that Marseille prosecutor Brice Robin said he had received information about the inquiries from counterparts in other countries. He said he is reviewing the information prior to a meeting with the victim's families next week.

Investigators have found that Lubitz had researched suicide methods, as well as airliner cockpit door security online in the week before the crash, which they say shows premeditation for the act.

Robin told the AP that international agencies are responding to a formal request for cooperation in the investigation. One lawyer who is representing several of the families of Germans fatally injured by the act are growing angry over errors in official death certificates. The identification of those killed has also been slowed by the rules in the 19 different countries where the victims lived.
