Advanced Aero Celebrates First Flight Of Inverted V-Tail

Development Continues In The Air And On The Computer

Representatives at Melbourne, FL-based Advanced Aero tell Aero-News the company recently made its first flight of the new Inverted V-Tail Technology Demonstrator aircraft.

"The airplane performed very well, confirming that the design delivers superior ground and flight handling along with the benefit of jet-like smooth and efficient low drag characteristics," announced Joe Gagliano, Program Manager and Test Pilot.

In addition to gathering actual flight data from their technology demonstrator aircraft, Advanced Aero has also continued to develop Computer Aided Design (CAD) models of the production aircraft, starting with the fuselage and wing center section (below).

As the engineering team approach an upcoming critical design, review further refinement will include pilot and maintenance feedback based on operating and servicing their Technology Demonstrator, SN 0001.

The aircraft was also recently featured at the Sebring Sport Aviation Expo (file photo, top).
