NBAA Names Recipients of AMT Scholarships

Students Obtain Over $400,000 in Awards for Buisiness Aviation Maintenance Training and Career Advancement

The National Business Aviation Association Maintenance Committee has announced the lucky recipients of the 2021 Maintenance AMT Scholarship, delayed since last year from pandemic-related scheduling issues.

Each of the winners will receive a specialized training package suited to their career needs, from initial maintenance training programs to engine courses.

Those eligible for the assistance are current or aspiring business aviation maintenance technicians, required to send a letter of recommendation, resume, transcript, and completed essay. Additionally, donors have supported an AMT travel fund to offset the costs of travel and lodging while attending the training. Recipients transitioning from military into business aviation are welcomed to apply.

The scholarship bequeaths immensely useful assistance, far and away more helpful than the garden variety tuition assistance that goes to buy a few credit hours at a liberal arts college.

The NBAA grants include, among many others, Rolls-Royce Engine training, Dassault Falcon Maintenance Initial Course for any jet, Gulfstream G-280 Avionics Course, Citation CJ3 Series Initial Training, FJ Series Engine Line Maintenance, and Avionics Installation programs.

The NBAA thanks the roster of assisting organizations for making the program possible, with help from CAE Training, Dassault Falcon, FlightSafety, Garmin, Global Jet Services, Gogo Business Aviation, Gulfstream, Collins, Rolls-Royce, Textron, Williams International, and USC Viterbi. Applications for this year's AMT awards will be opened up later this year. For those interested in advancing their AMT skills in the industry, the NBAA offers a number of other scholarships and professional development programs.
