Former Washington Staffer, Aviation Lobbyist Comes From
ACI-NA
The National Business Aviation
Association (NBAA) announced last week that veteran Capitol Hill
staffer and aviation lobbyist Ashleigh de la Torre will join the
Association's staff on December 4 as director, legislative
affairs.
"Ashleigh brings a solid grasp of aviation policy and the
congressional process to NBAA," said NBAA President and CEO Ed
Bolen. "She will enhance the work of the Association to promote the
interests of our Members in the federal policy arena, and I am
pleased to have her aboard."
Before coming to NBAA, de la Torre served as director of the
Airport Legislative Alliance for the Airports Council International
- North America (ACI-NA). There, she oversaw the alliance's
legislative advocacy work, managed the association's political
action committee and provided legislative updates to association
members.
Prior to her work with ACI-NA, de la Torre served as legislative
assistant to US Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS), where she managed the
senator's work on transportation policy --including aviation policy
-- as well as homeland security policy and other issues.
De la Torre holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science and
Bachelor of Science in journalism from the University of Kansas and
a Master's in public administration from the George Washington
University.
Founded in 1947 and based in Washington, DC, the National
Business Aviation Association, Inc. (NBAA) represents more than
7,000 companies and provides more than 100 products and services to
the business aviation community, including the NBAA Annual Meeting
& Convention.
