Cessnas 2 Oshkosh Ready To Take Over Wittman Field... Again

Another Mass Cessna Arrival Being Planned

The Cessnas 2 Oshkosh group and the Cessna Pilots Association just dropped a line to ANN to let Cessna pilots know that they want them to join them for the third annual Cessnas 2 Oshkosh mass arrival into Oshkosh's EAA AirVenture 2008 at Wittman Regional Airport, scheduled for Saturday, July 26. They are looking for Cessna aircraft owners and pilots who would like to join in the celebration. The Cessnas 2 Oshkosh group considers this event an opportunity for Cessna pilots to showcase their skills and also demonstrate their solidarity as Cessna owners.

The first formation flight training clinic in preparation for the mass arrival took place on February 16 at Moore County Airport (KSOP) in Southern Pines, NC. Several more are scheduled in different regions of the country including Alabama, Florida, Texas, Michigan, Missouri, New York, Vermont and Wisconsin. Visit the Cessnas 2 Oshkosh website for information on specific training dates and locations.

Events will be scheduled throughout the week, starting with a meeting Friday, July 25 at Dodge County Airport (KUNU) in Juneau, WI followed by the final formation flight training clinic before the arrival. Saturday will kick off with events at the airport to include lunch and a briefing for the mass arrival at Oshkosh later that day.

As it was the case in the previous two years, this year EAA will reserve up to 500 camping slots in Cessna Base Camp. Those interested in reserving a spot must sign up on the Cessnas 2 Oshkosh website in order to get into the Cessna Camping area.

Participants will not only be able to revel with their fellow Cessna pilots, but they'll eat pretty well, too. Highlights of the week will include a free BBQ on Monday provided by Cessna in the "Cessna Base Camp." On Tuesday, July 29, the Cessna Pilots Association is having another BBQ.
