Gulf Air CEO Resigns As Carrier Faces Criminal Investigation

Carrier's Employees Have Been Instructed To "Shut Up"

After less than four months at the helm, Gulf Air's Chief Executive Officer resigned Tuesday and the carrier announced it was under "criminal investigation."

It isn't immediately clear if on has to do with the other, according to the United Press International.

There was no reason given for the resignation.

"It has been mutually decided that Mr. Andre Dose will leave the company in accordance with the terms of his employment contract. The Board thanked Mr. Dose for his assistance to the company during his employment period and wished him every success in his future plans," said the company.

Shortly after Dose took the CEO position in April, the Bahrain-based company began losing more than $1 million a day, reported UPI.

The extensive restructuring initiated by Dose will continue, according to Air Transport World.

Gulf Air Chairman Mahmood Hashim Al Kooheji told the Gulf Daily News the carrier was under investigation by Bahrain prosecutors.

"There is a criminal investigation from the public prosecutor and we have been advised not to make any comment or talk about the case," he said.

All airline employees have been told, "Guys, this is a public prosecution investigation; I want everybody to shut up," he added.
