South African Native Joined The Company In 1999
Gulfstream recently named veteran company employee Tony Swift a
field service representative (FSR). Swift responds to the needs of
Gulfstream customers in northern New Jersey, with primary
responsibility for Teterboro, Morristown and Newark airports. He
reports to Bill Fuger, manager, Field Service Operations, United
States and Latin America.
From October 2004 until recently, Swift (pictured) was a
member of the Gulfstream Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) team at
Chievres Air Base in Belgium. As a shift lead, Swift managed the
day-to-day maintenance of a C37-A (Gulfstream GV) aircraft for the
U.S. Air Force.
A native of South Africa, Swift joined Gulfstream in 1999,
working as a technician with the Savannah service center drop-in
crew. He went on to become the mechanical team lead in the service
center. Before joining Gulfstream, Swift was a line technician for
Signature Flight Support at Westchester County Airport in Harrison,
N.Y. He was introduced to the Gulfstream product line while working
part-time on Gulfstream GIVs operated by NetJets.
Prior to immigrating to the United States in April 2007, Swift
was an aircraft mechanic for five years in the South African Air
Force. He holds a South Africa Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)
aircraft and engine (A&E) license, the equivalent of a Federal
Aviation Administration (FAA) aircraft and power plant (A&P)
license, and is a certified FlightSafety International Master
Technician for the Gulfstream G550/G500 and GV aircraft.
