New British Aviation Safety Trust Created

Airspace4All Aims to Boost Safety, Promote Equitable Access, Diminish Environmental Impact

A new Charitable trust has been established in the UK to improve the overall state of UK aviation, made to represent the interests of recreational, sport and private flight activities. The Airspace4All Trust will work with the UK's Airspace Modernization Strategy (AMS) and their change proposals, specifically through 3 primary areas of focus.

First the trust will aim to improve the safety and efficiency of general aviation by improving procedures, facilities, equipment, and regulatory policies in use today. Should promising changes or concepts be found, the trust can help to fund the necessary studies, reports, or expertise to present advisory materials to stakeholder organizations or authorities. Second, the issue of equitable access to airspace, one of the banner causes for the program, hopes to spread out access to aviation to more areas and demographics underserved in legacy infrastructure. Finally, the reduction of environmental impact, whether elimination of noise, emissions, or visual intrusion by all types of aircraft.

Chairman of the Trustees John Allison said “The establishment of the Trust and the award of initial grant funding will enable the Trust to provide a strong and co-ordinated voice on behalf of the sector, enhancing safety, enabling collective representation as the UK’s program for airspace modernization moves forward and furthering the government’s stated ambition for the UK to be seen as the best place for aviation. To further its aims the Trust is open to any project proposals from any source that fulfills its charitable objectives.”
