Becker Avionics Delivers 700th DVCS

Over 100 Delivered For The Lakota LUH Program

The 700th Becker Avionics Digital Voice Communication System (DVCS) since its initial introduction was delivered this week. The unit was delivered to American Eurocopter Corporation for the US Army's UH-72A Lakota Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) program.

"Becker Avionics is the brand leader in aircraft Digital Audio and intercom solutions for Helicopter and Fixed-Wing aircraft applications said Brett Gardner, Director of Sales and Marketing at Becker Avionics. "The product was initially certified in 2005, as the first Digital Audio system achieving Technical Standards Order (TSO), as well as European Technical Standards Order (ETSO) certification. With 700 systems in operation in a wide range of installations, performed by a variety of integration and completion centers, as well as Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM's) around the world, the DVCS6100 has become the first choice for professional grade Digital Audio and intercom systems."

The DVCS6100 design provides the customer with ability to match a wide range of operational requirements with only one system. The built-in scalability and flexibility reduces not only the cost and time requirements for constant re-engineering and certification for a tailored system solution, but also reduces the learning curve for integration, maintenance and troubleshooting time. Through software programming options, the system is both easily and quickly configurable to individual customer requirements, thus saving time and money.

Becker says the DVCS' open system architecture technology provides for operational comfort and superior voice quality, ensuring that almost any customer requirement can be met, while providing crystal clear communication for crew and passengers. When compared to a legacy analog audio system, Becker says digital technology provides simplified installation, improved performance, reduced wiring and weight, along with reduced installation and maintenance costs. Furthermore, the comprehensive built-in-test (BIT) feature enables line maintenance crews to easily diagnose/isolate failures and replace system components quickly.
