NLX Sim Ready To 'Fly'

Bombardier Challenger Full Flight Simulator Gets FAA Approval

Rockwell Collins' NLX subsidiary has received Federal Aviation Administration Level D qualification on its Bombardier Challenger 300 Full Flight Simulator. This represents the first NLX commercial aircraft flight simulator for Bombardier.

"NLX has provided us with support during the development and certification of our Challenger 300 FAA Level D simulator and associated FTD," said Hank Blasiak, general manager, Bombardier Customer Training Services. "Their flexibility and resourcefulness during a parallel dynamic aircraft development program was critical to our success."

"The acceptance of the Challenger 300 demonstrates our ability to concurrently develop a Level D commercial full-flight simulator in unison with the development of a new aircraft," said Tony Syme, vice president of Rockwell Collins' Simulation & Training Systems. "We consistently kept the CL300 simulator in line with the aircraft development program and delivered a Full Flight Simulator that meets the demanding requirements for pilot training. We look forward to more opportunities with Bombardier and other commercial aircraft manufacturers."
