Cessna Turbo Stationair Certified With Garmin G1000

Cessna's Third G1000 Certification

Cessna Aircraft Company achieved full FAA type certification for the Garmin G1000-equipped T206H Turbo Stationair. The G1000 system provides integration of all primary flight, navigation, communication, terrain, traffic, weather, and engine sensor data on two large 10.4-inch glass, XGA resolution (1,024x768-pixel count) displays. The type certification was presented to Cessna officials Tuesday evening in Wichita (KS).

This marks Cessna's third Garmin G1000 FAA aircraft-level certification. Cessna received certification for the 182T Skylane and T182T Turbo Skylane in June 2004. Cessna anticipates certification for the regularly aspirated Stationair, 206H, by the end of the month. Cessna will begin Turbo Stationair deliveries in the immediate future.

In October 2003, Cessna announced Garmin's G1000 integrated avionics system as a 2004 factory installed, NAV III option on all Skylanes, Turbo Skylanes, Stationairs, and Turbo Stationairs. Within hours of the announcement, Cessna took over 300 orders from their Cessna Sales Team Authorized Representatives (CSTARs). In July 2004, Cessna revealed the 172 Skyhawk would also be equipped with the all-glass cockpit beginning in 2005.
