American Next to Chapter 11 Protection?

Flight Attendants Apparently Don't Like 'Best Deal'

The votes were in, and American Airlines' flight attendants voted against the deal, according to a radio report in Dallas, headquarters city of the world's largest airline. Interestingly, a spokesman for the AFA said the union's board was still "discussing" the vote.

"Discussing" is an odd term, to be used when describing a vote. "Counting," or even, "reporting," might be a more-descriptive term. [Note: late reports said the vote was close -- just a few hundred -- and the union wanted another chance to put the measure before the voters. Perhaps they should just move the whole operation to Florida...]

The pilots approved their deal, with 69% of the votes in favor; the Transportation Workers Union also approved their deal, though the vote was much closer.
