Medical Transport Plane Down In Elko, NV

Four Fatally Injured In Friday Night Accident

An airplane transporting a heart patient departing Elko, NV Friday night went down in a parking lot, resulting in the fatal injury of all four people on board.

Television stations KRNV/KRXI report that the accident occurred at about 7:15 pm local time. The aircraft experienced engine problems, according to Lieutenant Rich Genseal with the Elko Police Department. He said the plane had just departed enroute to Salt Lake City, UT when it went down.

The Elko Daily Free Press reports that the plane was transporting a heart patient to the University of Utah, according to an Elko cardiologist.

American Med Flight released a statement Saturday identifying the three crewmembers on board as Pilot Yuji Irie, Tiffany Urresti of Elko and Jake Shepherd of Utah. The patient was identified as Edward Clohesey of Spring Creek, NV.
