NBAA Hosts First Ever “Meet-the-Regulators” Session

Features Government Officials From CDC, FAA and Customs and Border Protection

The NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition is planning its first-ever virtual “Meet-the-Regulators” session. Government officials are ready for your operational questions whether it relates to COVID considerations or other issues.

The session takes place from 11 am-12:30 pm on September 30, as part of the NBAA’s roster of hybrid content. There will be key figures from the Customs and Border Protection, US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the FAA.

CBP Program Manager of General Aviation Eric Rodriguez will discuss the latest in customs policies and procedures, while Dr. Nicole Cohen, the CDC’s deputy associate director for science, division of global migration and quarantine, will answer attendees’ questions regarding masks, vaccine requirements and other pandemic-related issues.

FAA executives Robert Ruiz, soon-to-be deputy director of flight standards (AFX-2), and Bruce Decline, director of the Office of Safety Standards (AFS-1), among others, will represent the FAA on the panel.

“This is a unique opportunity for members to ask questions directly of regulators from the CBP, CDC and FAA, who set and carry out rules and policies that impact members’ operations and the industry as a whole,” said Brian Koester, CAM, NBAA’s director of flight operations and regulations. “The addition of CDC representatives to this year’s panel is critical, as the industry continues to respond to the ongoing COVID pandemic and assist in the global recovery from the crisis.

“We are pleased that as part of this year’s show we can make these government leaders available to share their perspectives and take questions, in an interactive, virtual format,” said Koester.
