Jeppesen Distribution Manager App Now Available For Mac

Former Jeppesen Services Update Manager (JSUM) Now Offered For Garmin And Avidyne Avionics

General aviation pilots with a subscription to Jeppesen digital avionics data now have a new update service platform; Jeppesen Distribution Manager (JDM) for Macintosh computers. The former Jeppesen Services Update Manager (JSUM) is now available as JDM for Mac and is currently available to support multiple avionics systems from Garmin and Avidyne.

JDM for Mac provides customers with a completely redesigned interface that is based on the latest user design principles and direct pilot interaction. The new Web-based user interface features improvements with design framework, graphics and workflow capabilities. A new drag-and-drop feature allows for simplified movement of information on-screen, while enhanced filtering by aircraft, avionics and data service type is now available.

“Reacting to strong interest from our customers and integrating pilot user experiences, we now offer the Jeppesen Distribution Manager application for Macintosh featuring Garmin and Avidyne avionics,” said Tim Huegel, director, Jeppesen Aviation Portfolio Management. “JDM for Mac includes numerous new form and function enhancements to elevate the customer data update experience and to simplify the overall flying process for general aviation pilots using the Macintosh platform.”

Limited to Garmin and Avidyne avionics with the initial service offering, JDM for Mac applications for additional avionics systems supported by Jeppesen is planned later this year. Jeppesen NavData as well as Garmin data and chart updates will be supported by JDM for Mac. The JDM for Mac application provides the gateway for pilots to keep their avionics data and chart services up to date, with subscription NavData, obstacle data and terrain data updated per each revision cycle. Jeppesen NavData is developed from a comprehensive aviation database, which is composed of more than one million records. To ensure accuracy, Jeppesen flight information analysts edit and verify approximately 150,000 database transactions generated from worldwide aviation data source documents during every 28-day revision cycle.
