Superior Receives Canadian TC For Vantage Engine

On Wednesday, Superior Air Parts received Type Certificate approval for its 180-horsepower Vantage engine from Transport Canada.

"This is a very exciting time for everyone involved in the Vantage Engine program," explained Keith Blockus, Superior’s Senior Director of Engineering and Product Development. "Receiving our Canadian T.C. is a significant milestone in our efforts to bring the performance advantages of this new engine to pilots around the world."

Blockus added that both current versions of the Vantage Engine -- the O-360 and fuel-injected IO-360 -- are included in the Canadian Type Certificate.

"This is just the first, next step in our Vantage Engine program," Blockus added. "We are continuing our efforts to gain approvals in every country where Vantage powered aircraft are sold and will operate."

As Aero-News reported, the Vantage engine received its FAA Type-Certificate in 2004.

Superior Air Parts, is the manufacturer of the new FAA certified Vantage Engine. The company is also the world’s leading manufacturer of FAA approved aftermarket cylinders and replacement parts for Lycoming and Continental aircraft engines. The company also manufacturers the XP-Engine family for experimental and sport aircraft builders.
