Skyborne Pilot Training Academy Offers New Programs

Curricula Facilitate Fast-Track or Slow Walk to the Cockpit

Skyborne—the airline training academy with bases at Vero Beach, Florida and Gloucestershire in the United Kingdom—has announced that it will offer a program by which individuals may learn to fly prior to committing to cockpit careers.

The institution also announced it intends to offer a CFI scholarship to program graduates wishing to become flight instructors at Skyborne.

The new program comprises a ten-month course that trains applicants through their Private Pilot License (PPL), Instrument Rating, and Commercial Certificate. Applicants may commence training at their discretion, and may choose to add optional supplements, such as on-site accommodation, to their training package. Upon completing their PPL, trainees wishing to pursue careers with one of Skyborne’s airline partners will be required to undergo the academy’s aptitude testing process, a battery of assessments designed to predict an individual’s suitability to the airline pilot field.

Skyborne’s CFI incentive will provide up to 2.5-million in scholarships to the first one-hundred trainees who complete the school’s Airline Academy program and wish to become Certified Flight Instructors (CFI) at Skyborne. Candidates who apply for instructor positions at Skyborne and pass the institution’s CFI selection process will receive $25,000 in training sessions applicable to the attainment of their Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Instrument (CFII) and Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI) ratings.

Skyborne CEO Lee Woodward states: “We are thrilled to be able to open our training to a wider pool of applicants. The Airline Academy program welcomes more people to the skies while providing them with an opportunity to discover whether an airline career is the right path for them. This allows everyone to benefit from an inclusive early stage of training while still providing our airline partners with highly qualified pilots who are carefully selected later down the line.”

Mister Woodward’s sentiments are echoed by Skyborne’s Managing Director, Ed Davidson, who adds: “The Skyborne CFI Scholarship is an exciting prospect because it opens the door for Airline Academy trainees to continue their flying at a professional level with complete financial support across multiple instructor qualifications. We want to encourage as many as we can to pursue their dreams in aviation and in airline careers specifically, so having the opportunity to provide the resources for them to do it is extremely rewarding.”
