Sport Aircraft Canada Inks Agreement for Shark 600 Distribution

Northern Dealer for Aerolite, Bushcat, Kanardia Adds Sleek, Sporty, High-Speed Sportplane

The Slovakian Shark 600 has a new distributor in the far north, Sport Aircraft Canada.

Sport Aircraft Canada (SAC) has been a fixture of the Canadian aviation scene for more than 20 years, providing avionics, aircraft, and accessories throughout the country. The Shark 600, a lightweight sport plane designed by Shark.Aero, is a low-wing, composite aircraft with tandem seating for 2 which will be imported as requested by the new dealer. The Shark 600 will sport a retractable undercarriage, a Rotax 912, Garmin G3X avionics, and a constant speed propeller. The addition of the sleek and aerodynamic aircraft stands in stark contrast to the rest of their offerings at Sport Aircraft Canada. The Shark is all curves, low-wing styling, and speed - a definite departure from the high-wing, rugged, and hardy billy goats sold by SAC until now.

The Shark received a measure of attention earlier this year when a teenaged Zara Rutherford used the type for her attempt at circumnavigating the world for the "world's youngest" title. The Shark was a fine traveling companion, described as the 'fastest aircraft in the world using the Rotax 912 ULS'. The Shark 600's rated maximum continuous power allows it a cruise speed over 150 knots, making it a "great cross-country machine" in the company's sport offerings. Sport Aircraft Canada says it will be registered in the Special C of A - Limited category since it exceeds the performance limitations of the standard AULA category.

The distributor has a demonstrator Shark 600 under construction, due to arrive in Canada next fall. The head office in Orangeville, Ontario will deal with the bureaucratic portion of the aircraft support, while their home at the nearby Brampton Airport will be their Shark 600 holding pen.
