Avionics Company Continuing Sponsorship For The Coming Season
Trig Avionics will continue their sponsorship of the Trig Aerobatic Team for 2014. Last year over 1 million air show spectators witnessed the team’s extreme and close formation flying. The team displays in two Pitts S1-D biplanes - these classic aircraft don’t just feature Trig branding, they also carry Trig Mode S transponders and 8.33 VHF radios. These certified avionics are vital, enabling their pilots to navigate and communicate whenever they take to the air.
Trig Aerobatic Team Leader Richard Grace shared, “We’re really pleased to have the support of Trig Avionics in 2014. This allows us to showcase these wonderful aerobatic aircraft as part of our exciting display and inspire people to go flying”.
Last year Richard rebuilt his aircraft, G-IIIP is pristine and flies a demanding +6 and -4g sequence. On the ground G-IIIP and G-PIII generate similar interest, wherever he and fellow Pilot Dave Puleston land. Richard said, “Our range is limited, so we regularly need to top up our fuel and fill up with smoke oil. This is used to produce the environmentally friendly white smoke that is a key ingredient in our display. Time on the ground provides a chance to talk with club pilots, many of whom are thinking of fitting Mode S and 8.33 radios. Dave and I are happy to answer questions and show people how well Trig equipment suits the needs of GA pilots. Last year we dropped in at over 45 flying clubs, this year we intend to visit additional fly-in events, so if you see us please come and have a chat.”
Andy Davis CEO at Trig Avionics said, “Richard and Dave perform a superb display, the guys are gaining a great reputation as one of the UK’s premier air show acts. As a British company we are keen to support grass roots aviation and the Trig Aerobatic Team perfectly captures both the spirit of aviation and reflects our company ethos for products that perform above expectations. I hope the team will inspire others to fly.”
