Classic Aero-TV: Heading For Certification - Bendix King's AeroVue

Integrated Flight Deck For The King Air...

While at the 2014 NBAA Business Aviation Convention, ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell, met with the folks at BendixKing to ask about the progress on their new AeroVue product. Kerry Heiss, the BendixKing AeroVue senior product manager brings us up to date on AeroVue while the video gives you a good look at the product in operation.

Heiss says that AeroVue is now flying and being tested in conjunction with the autopilot. Basic certification is planned for the early part of 2015. When asked about the target market for AeroVue, Heiss said it’s for the upper end of the FAR part 23 aircraft.

AeroVue will be offering performance capabilities similar to FAR part 25 aircraft. It looks like the King Air line of airplanes will be the first market target, but they are also looking at the light jets as well. Heiss points out that the combination of Honeywell with BendixKing brings an added advantage in the product design. This video provides a good look at the technology in this rapidly moving field of flight instrument systems and avionics.
