ETCUSA Releases ProTrainer Flight Training Software

ETCUSA has released their latest flight training product, "ProTrainer(TM)." After years of development and extensive flight-testing, ETC's Interactive Division, located in Eugene, Oregon, is pleased to announce the immediate availability of their ProTrainer(TM) PCATD (Personal Computer Airplane Training Device) and ProTrainer(TM) Desktop products. Both products are aimed at providing flight schools and pilots the next generation in personal and PCATD instrument training.

ProTrainer(TM) PCATD is approved by the FAA when installed in FAA-Approved CAT I, II, III and IV PCATD hardware platforms.

ProTrainer(TM) PCATD and ProTrainer(TM) Desktop include a variety of popular training aircraft, from the fixed-prop, single-engine Skyhawk through the multi-engine Seminole and Baron light-twins. You can fly all of these great aircraft on your choice of certified hardware or on the desktop setup of your choice. ProTrainer's(TM) aircraft modeling and display system is an open and data-driven system utilizing industry standard XML. This allows the end user to edit much of the aircraft's flight characteristics or even add new aircraft directly to ProTrainer(TM).

ProTrainer(TM) PCATD and ProTrainer(TM) Desktop contain many advanced training features never before seen in flight training software at this price point. ProTrainer's(TM) integrated training suite includes approach visualization with 3D playback, customizable flight profile generation using the Task Builder, advanced flight data recording, spatial disorientation illusions, and a built-in instructor's control interface.

Scott Huette, Development Director, ETC Interactive, said: "ProTrainer(TM) PCATD and ProTrainer(TM) Desktop provides pilots a level of realism never before achieved. The visual quality of our instruments and the accuracy of our aero models are the best currently on the market. The visual display provides an impressive photo-realistic terrain database with accurate modeling of major cities and terrain features. The list of features includes selectable and timed meteorological conditions; selectable and timed malfunctions; various map and out-the-window views; approach lighting and taxiways and an extensive US obstacle database. It contains all FAA-listed airports and Navaids for Canada, the United States and Mexico. Other ICAO Regions are planned for future releases."

Glenn King, ETC's Aircrew Training Systems Application Manager, said: "ProTrainer(TM) software is developed to provide ETC a 'core technology' package that will be utilized in many of our flight training devices and simulators. The ability to provide a common training software, usable by a pilot at home and at their flight school, offers a seamless transition of training."

ETC also designs, develops, installs and maintains aircrew training systems, process simulation systems (sterilization and environmental), clinical hyperbaric systems, environmental testing and simulation systems, public entertainment systems and related products for domestic and international customers.
