Classic Aero-TV: Social Flight – Seeking Greater Participation in GA

No More Excuses For Not Being Able To Find A Way to Enjoy Aviation...

This video was shot At the AOPA aviation Summit 2013 and is well worth watching. Jeff Simon, the president and founder of SocialFlight, presented a forum regarding promoting general aviation, getting new people interested in started in general aviation, and retaining those that are already part of the general aviation world.

SocialFlight was formed to help existing GA pilots focus on sharing their passion for flight. Simon opined that we tend to enjoy it ourselves but not to share it to the point that other people become interested. It's a well-accepted fact that pilots like to socialize with each other and we even have a name for it; it's called hangar flying. SocialFlight wants to expand the social value of flying to those outside our personal sphere.

Simon said, "SocialFlight empowers anyone to host an event in a way that hasn't been done before". SocialFlight accomplishes this through free web and app tools. They provide a way to communicate aviation events to thousands of pilots.

SocialFlight is a revolutionary way for pilots to keep in touch and find out what's going on, but it's much more than a simple schedule of events. This video explains the details of what it is and how it works. SocialFlight can make flying more enjoyable for you and help you make it enjoyable for others.
