In a bittersweet moment RANS Aircraft company owner and CEO Randy Schlitter announced the promotion of a new company president and a reduced role for himself.
Deflecting the solemn event with humor the sentiment was palpable, Randy announced Tony Dopita was stepping into the role of company President stating that Tony was a capable captain having been an employee for 20+ yrs and knew the business from the ground up. Tony accepted the position graciously, describing his time with RANS beginning literally as a janitor and ending up President. Tony said he is looking forward to taking RANS into the next chapter of its story. Randy stated his role will diminish accordingly, but not entirely, remaining active in the research and development projects of the future.
RANS also announced a new builder support program having developed a 2 week build program. Describing the program as an FAA approved 51% hands on project to assist the builder in quickly and proficiently building RANS aircraft. The program is currently limited to only the RANS S-21 model and is broken up into two segments, the first part rendering a mostly complete airframe and flight control subassemblies, and the second completing the aircraft with final assembly and painting. The program ensures the end product will meet applicable airworthiness standards and will give the customer the peace and satisfaction of knowing, intimately, exactly what he has.
