Dispatchers Distant Learning Program Approved By FAA

Students Can Be Certified In Aircraft Dispatch Online

The FAA has granted approval to Airline Ground Schools (AGS), now a division of Flamingo Air Academy, for its enhanced On-line Distant Learning Program for Aircraft Dispatch Certification. "It is the first program of its kind in the world to gain such approval," said Sharon McGee, President of the Cincinnati based academy.

The Aircraft Dispatch Certification Course with Distant Learning Instruction allows students, worldwide, to complete 152 of the 200 FAA required hours necessary for completion of their Aircraft Dispatch Certification. Upon completion of the initial 152 hours the students will attend a 6-day residency program at Flamingo Air Academy's global campus in Cincinnati to complete the remaining 48 hours.

The Distant Learning Instruction program consists of 11 subject areas broken into 121 segments. The FAA required subject areas are: Regulations and Aeronautical Information, Aircraft Systems, Manuals and Publications, Air Traffic Control, Navigation, Communication, Meteorology, Hazardous Weather, Airports, Crew and Procedures, Emergencies and Practical Dispatch Applications.

Each subject area includes videos as well as lectures, power-point presentations and exams which are delivered and graded on-line. Special programming insures time and content compliance.

Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a graduation certificate and will sit with an FAA or FAA designated examiner for their final "Check Ride".

In addition, Flamingo Air Academy has developed a 100% on-line Recurrency program that meets all of Part 121, Aircraft Dispatcher Recurrency requirements. Using this system a Certified Aircraft Dispatcher can complete their Recurrency obligations from the comfort of their home or office.
