Aero-TV: TL Sport Aircraft Expands U.S. Operations

Four Outstanding Models to Czech Out

Founded in the Czech Republic in 1989 as TL Ultralight, the company known today as TL Sport Aircraft has steadily increased the sophistication and appeal of its offerings from humble gliders and motor-tricycles to slick, modern Light-Sport machines renowned for their agility, speed, and robust reliability.

TL Sport Aircraft currently produces four airplane models: the refined, elegantly contoured, high-wing, TL 3000 Sirius, which offers buyers superb flight performance, excellent safety, and a first-rate, side-by-side cockpit; the nimble Stream—the sidestick controls, zesty performance, tandem-seating, and full panoramic canopy of which afford pilots a flying experience evocative of a jet-fighter jaunt; the quick, responsive-yet-forgiving and well-balanced Sting S4—an aircraft well-suited to both long cross-country flights and pure sport flying; and the new Sparker, a side-by side iteration of TL’s Stream optimized for cross-country flying.

Designed using the latest CAD/CAM technologies, TL’s models incorporate extensive carbon-fiber and Kevlar construction for purpose of contemporaneously maximizing aircraft safety and minimizing airframe weight. The inner portion of TL fuselages—after the fashion of Formula-One race-cars—comprises a Kevlar shell, which ensures the highest possible level of occupant safety.

In keeping with popular adages pertaining to form and function, the lines and contours of TL Sport Aircraft models are visually stunning and speak to the machines’ in-air prowess. TL achieves this synthesis of beauty and performance using modern production processes and technologies, which cumulatively serve to keep Sirius, Stream, Sting, and Sparker production fast, accurate, and flawless.

What’s more, the cockpits of TL’s aircraft—by dint of outstanding visibility and Garmin’s G3X Touch avionics suite—significantly broaden pilots’ situational-awareness and enjoyment of flying. Varying by model, TL Sport Aircraft are designed to accept Rotax’s 912 ULS, 912 iS, or 914 engines, which range in power-output from 80 to 115-horsepower.

Addressing the subject of his company’s U.S. expansion and the construction of new U.S. facilities, TL Sport Aircraft president Trey Murdaugh set forth: “One of the hallmarks of our company is good product support and service after the sale. And it is integral and key in the U.S. marketplace to have dealerships that a customer can … purchase an aircraft at and go to for service or parts after the sale to maintain their aircraft.”
