MT-Propeller Awarded Another EASA STC

Provides For The Installation Of The MTV-27 Prop On M7 Aerospace SA226 Series Airplanes

EASA has awarded an STC to MT-Propeller for the installation of the Quiet Fan Jet composite propeller (MTV-27-1-E-C-F-R(G)/CFR235-55a) on the M7 Aerospace SA226-T, SA226-AT, SA-226-TC aircraft.

MT-Propeller President Gerd Muehlbauer says that the installation requires no engine modifications (no cam or beta tube change). The company says the new prop will reduce ground roll by about 100 feet, and improve two-engine and single-engine climb performance by about 100 ft/min.

It further says cruise performance improved slightly by up to 4 knots; Cabin noise is reduced by 3 to 5 dB(A) depending on location, and; offers cooler ITTS during engine start up due to a one-their shorter starting.

The five-blade composite props weigh the same as the original three-blade metal props, according to a media release.

The smaller diameter of the MT-Propeller for the SA226 series means more ground clearance for less blade tip erosion. The natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction. They have no life limitation, and are repairable if damaged.

They also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation and have bonded on nickel alloy leading edges for superior erosion protection of the blades, the company said.
