Golden Knights And US Jet To Headline OC Air Show

Inaugural Event Coming To Maryland In June

The red, white and blue jets of the US Jet aerobatic team, and the black and gold parachutes of US Army Golden Knights, will fill the skies over Ocean City, MD this June. Both teams will headline the inaugural OC Air Show, scheduled for June 10-11 over the Ocean City beachfront.

The US Jet aerobatic team is one of only two civilian aerobatic jet teams in the country., appearing at select air shows each year. The US Jet team will perform low level close formation and opposing aerobatics featuring formation loops, mirror-image flight and opposing knife-edge passes at closure rates in excess of 700 miles per hour.

They will operate from the Ocean City Municipal Airport during their stay and participate in the media day and open house being planned there on June 9.

"We are pleased that US Jet has chosen to perform at the OC Air Show," said Mayor Rick Meehan. "I'm looking forward to seeing them soar over our beaches and boardwalk."

The US Army Golden Knights parachute demonstration team also announced they will participate in the OC Air Show. The Golden Knights perform and compete at events across the nation and around the World.

"It has been quite awhile since the team has performed at Ocean City," said SFC Harold Meyers, Gold Team Leader. "The members of the Gold Demonstration Team will be jumping in to the OC Air Show this year. We are really looking forward to meeting everyone and convey our sincere appreciation to the American Public for all of their continued support."

The US Air Force reserve biplane will also perform at the event. Pilot Ed Hamill will dazzle spectators with a thrilling aerobatic show of loops, rolls and climbs.

The OC Air Show will feature military aircraft demonstrations, low altitude flyovers and civilian aerobatic performances taking place over the Ocean City beachfront from 12:00 to 3:00 pm on June 10-11. Interactive displays and exhibits will be open to the public on the streets surrounding Show Center, that will be located at 16th Street on the Boardwalk.

The free air show will be visible along the majority of the Boardwalk, creating a memorable experience for visitors.
