Trump's Personal Helicopter Can't Be 'Marine One'

President Is Banned From Using His Private S-76 Helo

Since his inauguration in January, President Donald Trump has been barred from flying in his personal helicopter ... but it was on prominent display at Mar-a-Lago over the weekend.

The appearance of the red, white and blue Trump-branded Sikorsky S-76 on a landing pad constructed at Mar-a-Lago specifically for use by Marine One came as a surprise to local officials and Secret Service, according to a report from the Palm Beach Daily News.

Secret Service protocols require the President to be fly only on Air Force One or Marine One. So Trump has not been aboard his VIP S-76 since his inauguration. And when a request came in to Palm Beach Fire and Rescue for a fire engine to be on standby from the Secret Service because a helicopter was arriving at Mar-a-Lago, Spokesman Sean Baker said the department was taken by surprise. "This was not something we knew was coming," he said.

The helicopter sat on the Marine One landing pad through Sunday, according to the report. Why it was at the resort is still not known, and White House officials would not say, according to a report from the New York Post.
