SmartSky’s '4 Gives More' NBAA Program To Benefit Corporate Angel Network

Will Donate $4 Per Mile Walked At NBAA Convention

Providing timely private jet transportation for cancer patients and their families is the noble work of Corporate Angel Network (CAN) and contributing corporate flight departments. Those trips will soon be enhanced by the availability of SmartSky 4G, the nation’s first authentic 4G LTE-based aviation communications network, taking flight in 2016.

SmartSky 4G equipped aircraft will benefit from dramatically improved inflight communications and enable an even better experience for patients, families, and caregivers. Additionally, the company plans to make a direct financial contribution to CAN, as SmartSky launched its "4 Gives More" program at NBAA2015.

The 4 Gives More program works like this. SmartSky distributed Fitbits to its many partners and Early Bird customers to track the distance each participant walked. SmartSky will donate $4 for every four miles they logged at the show prior to the NBAA/CAN Soiree on Wednesday evening. It should be no problem to rack up miles. The Las Vegas Convention Center encompasses 3.2 million square feet and offers over 1,100 indoor exhibitors to check out. Plus there’s an equally compelling and step-generating outdoor static display of about 100 business aircraft at Henderson Executive Airport (HND).

“Rather than just complaining about tired convention feet, now our collective footsteps can do some good,” said SmartSky Networks President Ryan Stone. “Our partners and Early Bird customers can wear their walking shoes at NBAA as a way to generate funds for Corporate Angel Network and advance its cause. We’re hoping to write a large check this first year and more substantial ones in the future as our customer base grows.”

The National Business Aviation Association has been instrumental in the growth of Corporate Angel Network and continues to support the organization in myriad ways. One important way is the annual NBAA/CAN Soiree, always a highlight of the convention. CAN is the sole beneficiary of the event’s live and silent auctions. The event has raised a significant part of CAN’s operating budget over the years. Now the NBAA convention itself will be the platform for another means of CAN support.

“SmartSky clearly understands the benefits of corporate aviation helping cancer patients get to the best possible treatment for their specific type of cancer,” said Peter Fleiss, Corporate Angel Network executive director emeritus. “Their 4 Gives More campaign also shows that they appreciate the power of human connection. By converting miles walked at the NBAA convention to dollars donated, each step can help ease someone else’s burden.”
