NASA Awards Contract For Aircraft Maintenance

$163 Million To Keep Training And Research Aircraft Flying

NASA has awarded a follow-on contract to Computer Sciences Corp. of Fort Worth, Texas, to support the agency's aircraft used for astronaut training and flight research. The contract has a potential value of approximately $163 million.

Work will be done under the Aircraft Maintenance and Modification Program to provide flight line, intermediate and depot level maintenance, repairs, modifications and engineering support for NASA aircraft. The aircraft are used at NASA's Johnson Space Center operations at Ellington Field in Houston and facilities in El Paso, Texas; Edwards Air Force Base, CA; NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center at Edwards, CA; and NASA's Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA.

This follow-on continues services provided by Computer Sciences Corp. under a previous contract that was effective March 1st, 2004, through August 31st, 2009. The new contract begins September 1st and continues through February 28th, 2010. There are two one-year options available to extend the contract, if exercised.
