New Blood and New Faces Geared at Prepping the Company for a Hearty Growth Spurt
Volatus infrastructure is a provider of electric charging solutions aimed at the burgeoning electrically powered aircraft sector.
The company partners with local airports to construct and equip that site with power and interface solutions that are either universal in nature or accommodates every type of current and future customer needs delivering “agnostic” interfaces.
The company announced new executive team members at AirVenture 2023. At EAA’s 70th AirVenture Volatus Infrastructure, LLC announced three members of their future leadership team. Dan Sloat will take on the challenge of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) working side by side with Co-Founder Grant Fisk as Volatus continues its rapid worldwide growth. Bob Johnson will take the lead as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) heading up Volatus’ global business development teams and fostering new relationships. Nicolas Zart will take command as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) working closely with Dan to champion the electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) industry into reality.
“It’s been my pleasure to author the beginning almost three years of Volatus Infrastructure,” said Grant Fisk, Co-Founder of Volatus Infrastructure. “The next chapter of Volatus is being written today by bringing together some of the brightest minds in the AAM industry. The impact Dan, Nicolas and Bob have already had on the AAM industry is immeasurable and I could not be more honored that they are now leading roles in the Volatus story.”
Dan Sloat is a JD/MBA, prior United States Air Force Captain who earned a Humanitarian Service Medal for his efforts to aid Syrian refugees during Operation Inherent Resolve in the fight against ISIS. He is a UAS Traffic Management expert with direct operational experience orchestrating the safe and efficient navigation of 13,000 drones. He’s also Founder of the Advanced Air Mobility Institute, an international non-profit dedicated to educate and advocate for the broadest public benefit through the AAM ecosystem globally. In his free time, Dan enjoys sailing in the Boston Harbor with his girlfriend Stephanie and their puppy, Deacon.
Bob Johnson is an early adapter of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) technology with senior executive business development expertise for both startup and corporate companies devising worldwide revenue

He is a founding member of the Georgia UAS Working Group at Georgia Tech and member of the Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT) AAM Working Group. In his free time, Bob enjoys golfing the beautiful greens around Atlanta and fly fishing in the Chattahoochee river.
Nicolas Zart is the former Director of Strategic Development for Vertical Flight Society and has covered the electric mobility industry as a journalist for the last 15 years. He was flying in his father’s plane at the tender age of 2 months young. He grew up with 1920s vintage cars instilling in him a sense of mobility pioneering but it wasn’t until after driving an AC Propulsion eBox and one of the first Tesla Roadsters that Nicolas focused on all aspects of the electric drive. He has been a contributing author at Vertiflite magazine since 2017 and consulted in communications with electric vehicles and AAM startups, rekindling his sense of mobility pioneering. In his spare time when he’s not traveling back to his family in France or elsewhere, Nicolas lives in Savannah where he enjoys walking in the local marshlands with his wife Virginia and their two chocolate labs, Kyoto and Chumley.
