Expansion of Textron Wichita Parts Facility Proceeding Apace

Year-End Completion Slated for 180,000-Square-Foot Structure

Textron Aviation is going about the business of expanding its Wichita, Kansas parts and distribution facility.

The project, which broke ground in October 2022, is reportedly on track to be completed by the end of 2023.

As work on the expansion commenced in 2022, Textron Aviation senior vice-president for global parts and distribution Kriya Shortt remarked: “This is an exciting day for Textron Aviation as we break ground on this expansion to our parts distribution facility. The additional space and capabilities this expansion provides will enable us to continue to invest in inventory to support not only new models like the Cessna SkyCourier and Beechcraft Denali but to continue to bolster our stock levels for other product lines as well.”

Textron reported in August 2023 that the 180,000-square-foot facility’s flooring, exterior walls, windows, and roof had been completed, and that construction teams had turned their attention to interior finishes, wiring, painting, and preparing the cavernous space for the Cessna, Beechcraft, and Hawker parts the company stocks and ships in support of its worldwide customer base.

The expanded parts and distribution facility’s footprint includes additional room for parts storage, warehouse space, offices, and dedicated customer support analysts.

Globally, Textron Aviation operates seven distribution centers and 17 stockrooms. The company’s Wichita location houses more than 120,000 parts and employs upwards of 350 people collectively engaged in support distribution operations.

The Wichita expansion includes a dedicated lane by which customers may drop off parts or pick such up in person, as well as opportunities for consolidated shipments. Expanded operations will facilitate, also, expedited support of Textron’s Wichita service center.
