CAE to Upgrade USAF C-130E/H simulators

Lockheed Martin has awarded CAE USA a contract valued at US$7.7 million to perform upgrades on U.S. Air Force C-130E/H simulators. CAE will upgrade the motion and aural cue systems on eight simulators located at Little Rock Air Force Base (AFB), Pope AFB, McChord AFB, Dyess AFB, and the Minneapolis Air National Guard Base. In addition, CAE will upgrade the Digital Radar Landmass System on two C-130H simulators at Dobbins Air Force Base.

Lockheed Martin Information Systems is the prime contractor for the USAF C-130 Aircrew Training System program. Under this program, Lockheed Martin has overall project management responsibility for training USAF C-130E and C-130H aircrews at sites in the United States and internationally.

“Our C-130 training and simulation experience, evidenced on this program as well as the new C-130J training systems, plays a key role in ensuring the Hercules aircrews receive high-quality training on their existing as well as new simulators,” said John Lenyo, president and general manager, CAE USA.

Under a teaming agreement with LMIS, CAE USA is responsible for providing a range of training and maintenance services, including simulator upgrades, training device maintenance, and hardware and software engineering support.
