EasyJet Flight Aborted When Passenger Spotted A Problem

Wrench Was Lodged In A Flap On The Aircraft

A passenger on board an EasyJet flight getting ready to depart from Geneva, Switzerland to Copenhagen, Denmark looked out the window of the plane and noticed something wrong.

There was a wrench lodged in one of the flaps of the airplane.

The passenger, identified only as Christophe, alerted the crew of the flight, and it returned to the gate so that the tool could be removed, according to the U.K. newspaper The Sun.

The potential issues are obvious. The tool could have caused the flaps to become jammed when the pilot tried to retract them after takeoff, forcing an emergency landing. Or the wrench could have become dislodged from the aircraft and become a hazard on the runway to the next airplane to take off.

But as it was, the tool was removed and the plane departed for Copenhagen about an hour behind schedule.
