Aircraft Down Feet From Residence In Denver

Accident Occurred At 0450 Local Time Near Centennial Airport

A twin-engine Cessna 404 departing from Denver's Centennial Airport early Tuesday morning went down in a residential neighborhood, coming to rest about 10 feet from the front door of one of the homes.

South Metro Fire Rescue said that the plane was engulfed in flames when crews arrived at the scene. It took about 10 minutes for the fire to be extinguished.

A person who resides in the neighborhood said that she heard the plane "go by really low," according to the Denver Post.

Television station KMGH reports that the pilot, the only person on board the Cessna, was fatally injured.
