DJI Bringing Back The Phantom Drone

Has Not Been In Stores For More Than A Year

The DJI Phantom line of drones, considered by some to be the industry standard, vanished from store shelves about 14 months ago. At the time, DJI cited a "parts shortage" that prevented it from manufacturing new Phantom drones.

Well the Phantom 4 Pro is back, according to a report from DPReview. The website has posted a statement it received from DJI saying that the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 is again available for purchase as of January 6, 2020.

"This popular and versatile drone had been temporarily out of stock because of a shortage of parts from a supplier. DJI sets high standards for the extremely advanced components in our products, which require advanced lead time and technical precision to manufacture. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our customers, and we thank them for their patience as we ensure the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 will continue to meet their high expectations," the statement said.

In the meantime, DJI has been focusing on its Mavic line, with rumors swirling about the possible release of a Mavic 3 in the next few months.
