ANN/SportPlane Resource Guide Adds Excitement To USSAE/Sebring Programs

Will Announce "Flyer's Dozen" Top SportPlanes of 2012 and Distribute Concise LSA Buyer's Guide/Checklist At USSAE2013

With the US Sport Aviation Expo 2013 less than a week away (and not even a month after Christmas), ANN and the SportPlane Resource Guide staff still have gifts to give the aviation public.

In addition to the expanded video, audio and online coverage that ANN and its sister organization, Aero-TV, are planning; ANN CEO Jim Campbell has added some serious 'goodies' to this year's busy program.

ANN has printed and will be circulating a short and concise LSA Buyer's Guide/Checklist, containing solid details and questions that should be brought up by every potential LSA buyer in the process of looking for their new airplane. And while this free checklist is geared to basic fixed wing offerings, there is still a lot to learn from this document for ANY person contemplating joining the LSA community as a Sport Pilot and/or LSA owner/operator.

Developed as a sample chapter for the forthcoming SportPlane Resource Guide... the most comprehensive guide series to every document the sport aviation landscape, ANN Contributor Earl Downs, an LSA writer/expert, flight instructor and a LODA holder for the Zenith CH601, felt that there was a need to arm today's LSA customers with solid info that is geared to insuring that they have the basic knowledge to make an informed buying decision. This short and concise checklist is geared solely to S-LSA fixed wing aircraft, but the staff of the SportPlane Resource Guide promise that the actual book will have a lot more data of this kind to fill in all the blanks for the rest of the community.

The document offers a lot of concise, tightly focused info for the erstwhile fixed wing LSA buyer and notes that, "When buying from a private owner you know who you are talking to. But when canvassing planes at an air event, you don't know who is selling the plane.  Sales displays at an air event may be staffed by manufacturer representatives, distributors, dealers, or an airplane owner who is allowing his/her plane to be used for display. Accuracy of the information you receive depends strongly on who you are talking to."

Visitors can get a copy of the SPRG LSA Checklist by asking for a copy from any ANN or Aero-TV staff member... we'll offer them free to everyone so long as our supplies last. For those looking for an electronic copy of this checklist, the low-resolution version of the Adobe PDF is available by clicking on this link: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B02eAua7pX3wYVhpZGMxUnRIMDQ/edit. A higher resolution copy available, on request, by emailing sprg@aero-news.net.

ANN will also use this amazing week of LSA goodness to announce our list of the top "Flyer's Dozen" SportPlanes we feel represent the very best that the industry can field at the moment. The list of 13 airplanes is heavily weighted toward the LSA segment but does contain a number of exceptional aircraft from the E-AB segment as well as E-LSA and S-LSA. ANN CEO, Jim Campbell, notes that companies with products on this list are, "the real deal... it was not good enough for an airplane to simply be very good to make the list... they have to encompass the whole package -- good companies, good customer service and GREAT airframes."
