TSA Agent In Pittsburgh Charged With Sexting 13-Year-Old Girl

Faces Multiple Felony Charges From The Allegations

A 51-year-old TSA explosives security specialist has been arrested and charged with sending explicit texts to a 13-year-old girl.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that John Serak of Baden, PA was arrested Tuesday by Allegheny County Police. He faces multiple felony charges based on the allegations.

The girl was a friend of Serak's daughter, according to local authorities. She told her parents about the texts because she felt uncomfortable with the situation. In March 2016, a detective took over the girl's phone and posed as her, continuing to text with Serak for several months. According to the complaint, one text read "The issue for me is part of me wants to snuggle with you like a father figure but the other part of me wants to snuggle with you because you are a very attractive young lady." He also asked for photos of the girl from the "waist up and waist down."

Serak is charged with unlawful contact with a minor, criminal solicitation, criminal use of a communication facility, attempted corruption of a minor and attempted indecent assault on a person under age 16.

Serak had been an officer with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, and resigned from the job in 2007, according to the report. He has now been suspended from his TSA job pending removal, according to TSA spokeswoman Michelle Negron.

He is being held in the Allegheny County Jail on a $50,000 bond, and is scheduled for a court appearance on March 28.
