The business jet industry’s near-term outlook is counter-intuitive, according to industry analyst Brian Foley. According to Foley, “Common sense dictates that as more jets are sold the industry’s total shipment values go up.
That may no longer be the case for the time being. The reason, according to Foley, has to do with a change in the mix of aircraft that will be sent to customers. The Boeing 727 operated by Zero-G has made a second precautionary landing in as many months ... this time at Vero Beach Municipal Airport on the central Florida coast Thursday afternoon. It’s reported that the airplane encountered engine problems, and the pilot declared an emergency. The plane landed at the airport south of Cape Canaveral. As we approach the holiday shipping madness, we find out that United Parcel Service pilots voted 2,252 to 8 to authorize a strike against United Parcel Service. The five-pilot International Pilot Association Executive Board now has the authority to formally request a release from federally mediated negotiations with UPS, and the discretion to conduct a strike once mediation is concluded.
