Miracle Flights Heralds Holiday Season With Record Flight Count

Arranged 685 Free Flights In November

Miracle Flights has reported a total of 685 free flights provided in November to critically ill children and adults in need of medical care far from home. This marks a significant increase over the November 2016 total of 478 flights and sets a new record as the highest November flight count in the organization's 32-year history.

Established in 1985, the Las Vegas–based national nonprofit works to close the gap between patient and doctor and increase access to medical care for those with rare and life-threatening conditions. Commercial air travel is arranged at no cost to families and is not restrictive to age or diagnosis, nor is there a limit to the number of medical flights the organization will provide to a patient in need.

To date, Miracle Flights has provided 113,506 flights and flown nearly 64 million miles.

"At Miracle Flights, we're in the habit of saying 'yes' a lot and helping as many families as we can, so it's encouraging to see that reflected in our growing flight counts," said Mark E. Brown, CEO of Miracle Flights. "We are incredibly grateful for the continued opportunity to serve families in our community and around the world, to welcome new partners to our cause, and ultimately to help more children get the medical care they need to lead a better quality of life."

November's flight count included passengers from 30 U.S. states and eight countries across the globe, including Canada, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Honduras, Puerto Rico, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Turkey.
