American CEO Says AA-US Airways Integration Is On Track

But Doug Parker Also Cautions That There Are Major Tasks To Be Completed

American Airlines CEO Doug Parker said in a recent message to employees that the integration of American and US Airways is on track and will accelerate in 2015, but that some of the biggest tasks have not yet been accomplished.

Parker said that the company has  co-located operations in more than 80 airports and re-banked the Miami schedule to increase the number of available connections. The company is preparing to do the same at DFW and ORD. He said the Cargo department became the first operational part of the airline to fully merge.

Still to come, however, is the issuance of a single operating certificate by the FAA and the combination of the reservation system.

Still, Parker said in the October 23 letter, "what we have accomplished so far gives us confidence that we are on the right track together."
