Airborne 08.25.21: Skytyper Lost, RC Paper Airplane, Blue Origin

The aviation community is in mourning... Tragically, on the evening before an airshow in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains, a pilot for the GEICO Skytypers died during a practice run. Andy Travnicek was confirmed as the pilot.

He was an Air Force Academy graduate, a 20-year veteran of the Air Force, a commercial airline pilot, and a certified flight instructor. He resided in New Hampshire with his wife, Sandy, also a veteran military pilot.He was the only person on board. Because smartphones can pretty much do almost everything, now they can power paper airplanes. The PowerUp 4.0 is a device that can be attached to your paper airplane design to take them to the next level. The device will run you about $70. After purchase, you will open your kit to find everything you need to strap a dual motor to your airplane. Included are a USB charger, spare propellers, and four templates to build with. Jeff Bezos has been having a summer of ups and downs, first going to space and now losing some of his top talent at Blue Origin. According to a number of media sources, 17 key leaders have made their departure along with two engineers, Nitin Arora and Lauren Lyons. Arora now works for Elon Musk’s SpaceX and Lyons, Firefly Aerospace. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
