MD Helicopters Awarded $5.1 Million Logistic Support Contract

Deal Covers 530F Primary Training Aircraft In Service With The Saudi Arabian National Guard

MD Helicopters (MDHI) has been awarded a firm fixed price contract to support the MD 530F primary training helicopter fleet currently in service with the Saudi Arabian National Guard.

Awarded by the Department of the Army, Army Contracting Command-Redstone Arsenal, the initial contract value is $976,222 for a period of performance through October 2015. The award also includes four one-year options that extend the total value of the contract to $5,118,969.

All work will be performed by a dedicated Contractor Field Service Representative (CFSR) within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. “It is my mission to deliver the best products with the best design and most relevant capabilities set to all MD Helicopters customers,” said Lynn Tilton, Chief Executive Officer for MD Helicopters. “With this award, we are honored to expand what has already proven to be an outstanding partnership with the Saudi Arabian National Guard to include the best in field service and support.”

From the provision of in-country technical knowledge to full service, on-site CLS management, MDHI offers comprehensive customer service and support capabilities ranging from training, troubleshooting and maintenance, to primary program support intended to ensure operational readiness and efficiency of both aviators and aircraft. The MDHI-provided CFSR will provide expertise in the areas of airframe systems and sub-systems unique to the Office of Program Management Saudi Arabian National Guard (OPM SANG), and will work in conjunction with Vinnell Arabia, the current CLS provider for these aircraft.

“Our field service organization is exceptional,” Tilton said. “Possessing a passion for performance and flawless execution that is matched only by the superior performance and utility of all MDHI helicopters. I am confident we will continue to exceed all performance expectations; whether in training or OPTEMPO conditions, and look forward to growing our role as a total rotorcraft solutions provider to U.S. and Allied forces.”

Twelve MD 530F primary training aircraft have been in service with the Saudi Arabian National Guard since March of 2013. During this time, 29 Saudi pilots have logged more than 3,000 flight hours in the performance of a variety of training missions.
