Official: AEA Cancels Convention

Has Initially Said The Event Would Be Postponed

The Aircraft Electronics Association has announced the decision to cancel its 63rd annual AEA International Convention & Trade Show that was scheduled for March 24-27 in Nashville, Tennessee. The event will not be rescheduled.

After announcing the show's postponement last week, efforts were made to reschedule the event later this year. However, with the escalating health crisis due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and the lack of available dates to reschedule, the decision has been made to cancel.

"There are even more critical decisions awaiting all of us," said AEA president and CEO Mike Adamson (pictured). "As business owners and industry leaders, I encourage each of you to put the health and well-being of your staff, customers and families in the forefront of your decision-making process. This cancelation will no doubt create questions, and we ask for your patience in advance as we sort through this process and continue to provide our valuable benefits and services."

The association's staff will begin processing refunds to all registered attendees, exhibitors and sponsors and asks for your understanding that the AEA is not able to bear any additional incurred costs. Please allow at least 30 days for this process to be completed.

Planning for next year's AEA Convention in Dallas, Texas, March 15-18, 2021, will begin soon. Be sure to save the date.

Until then, we hope you will support the association by joining aviation's technology experts at one of the upcoming AEA Connect Conferences later this year. Online registration for these events is available at AEA.net/Connect, and the schedule is as follows:

  • Sept. 10-11: AEA Canada (Calgary, Alberta)
  • Sept. 23-24: AEA East (Naples, Florida)
  • Oct. 19-20: AEA Central (Kansas City, Missouri)
  • Oct. 27-28: AEA West (Irvine, California)
  • Nov. 10-11: AEA South Pacific (Queenstown, New Zealand)
