Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion Now Certified On Bombardier C Series

Other Systems Include Primary Flight Control Computer, Multiscan Weather Radar And Head-Up Guidance

Rockwell Collins today announced that its Pro Line Fusion advanced avionics system has been type certified on the Bombardier CS100 commercial aircraft. First aircraft delivery is scheduled for the second quarter of 2016. Bombardier has booked orders and commitments for 603 C Series aircraft, which include firm orders for 243.

Rockwell Collins also provides the Primary Flight Control Computer (PFCC) and MultiScan weather radar with predictive windshear as standard equipment on the C Series family of aircraft, and a single or dual Head-up Guidance System (HGS) as an option.

“We congratulate Bombardier on achievement of type certification of the CS100 aircraft. This is a significant accomplishment and we share Bombardier’s excitement leading up to its airline debut with its first operator, SWISS,” said Craig Olson, vice president and general manager, Business and Regional Systems for Rockwell Collins. “Today also solidifies our Pro Line Fusion avionics system as a flexible and proven solution for any category of aircraft, which now includes commercial transport.”

Pro Line Fusion for the C Series aircraft, designed with five 15.1-inch diagonal LCD displays, provides an open architecture that enables extensive situational awareness capabilities aloft and on ground, comprehensive integration, and a growth roadmap to future air space requirements. Performance-enhancing capabilities that Pro Line Fusion will bring to the C Series aircraft include RNP AR 0.1 and Category IIIa/b autoland, which couples with Rockwell Collins’ PFCC for Bombardier’s fly-by-wire (FBW) flight control system.

Rockwell Collins’ PFCC provides an enabling platform to execute complex aircraft control laws, optimize aircraft fuel efficiency, improve passenger safety and enhance overall passenger ride comfort.

Swiss International Air Lines will take delivery of the first C Series equipped with Rockwell Collins systems, which includes a dual HGS.
