Airborne 12.22.17: Navy UFO Video, Classic Jets At AirVenture, TBM 930 World Flt

Also: Boeing Complaint Against Bombardier, NTSB Obstruction, Mike Disbrow Retires, Private Jet Robbed

The U.S. Department of Defense has declassified and released a video captured in 2004 by a Navy jet that some say proves that extraterrestrials have visited Earth.

In the video, a UFO described by pilot David Fravor as a "40-foot-long Tic Tac" is seen maneuvering rapidly and changing its direction. In the audio, one of the pilots says "there's a whole fleet of them, look on the S.A. They're all going against the wind. The wind is 120 knots to the west." The object appears to rotate as it flies. Some of the oldest jet aircraft in existence will be flying over the flightline at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2018 as the world’s largest fly-in convention brings together a rarely-seen gathering of these early jets. Among the airplanes expected to participate is a rare British Meteor, currently the oldest flying original jet in existence, which will arrive from the United Kingdom. British Venom and Vampire jets will be part of the gathering, as will American designs such as the T-33 “Shooting Star” and F-86 “Sabre,” as well as a Soviet-era MiG-17. Daher is acknowledging the achievement of two Polish TBM 930 owners who circled the globe during a four-week trip. Tomek Dudziak and Arjan Bakker flew most of their around-the-world expedition on flight segments south of the Equator, and many of their 26 stopovers in 25 countries were at UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These co-owners received their TBM 930 (Serial Number 1128) from Daher last year, and the globe-circling tour – performed from November 6 to December 3 – covered a total distance of 25,831 nautical miles. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
