Event Features a Weekend of Aviation Fun Honoring Community Responders

Southern California’s Camarillo Airport (CMA) will soon be welcoming back a crowd of aviation enthusiasts for the 44th time as part of its annual Wings Over Camarillo airshow. This year’s event pays tribute to the responders who helped the community through a series of wildfires.

Hosted by the Camarillo Wings Association, the event draws thousands each year to California’s Central Coast for two days of flying demonstrations, static displays, and community activities.

Gates open at 9 am on August 16 with a flightline preview until 11, giving visitors early access to performing aircraft, pilots, and crews. The official opening ceremony begins at noon, followed by aerobatic performances from John Collver, Judy Phelps, and local pilot Sammy Mason. Other daily features include a 1:30 p.m. classic car and motorcycle parade, helicopter rides, a veterans’ hangar, STEM exhibits, and a pancake breakfast hosted by VC99S. Hundreds of aircraft will be on display throughout the grounds.

General admission tickets range from $10–$32, with discounts for veterans, active-duty military, and children. VIP Chalet tickets, which include shaded seating, catered lunch, and beverages, are $90–$170. The show runs until 5 pm both days.

Now in its 44th year, Wings Over Camarillo is recognized as the largest air show on California’s Central Coast, combining aerobatic talent, historical aircraft, and local hospitality. The location gives visitors the chance to extend their trip and enjoy Camarillo’s nearby beaches, trails, and food.

The airport will also host a separate event the following weekend. On August 23, Ventura County Animal Services will bring its Clear the Shelters adoption day to Camarillo Animal Shelter, with waived adoption fees and early bird sign-ups in the morning. Every pet will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before going home.
